Day 01 : Arrive Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri * On to Gangtok (135 kms / approx. 4 hour drive)

Welcome to your 'Hills of East' tour ! On arrival at the Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station (on your own), you will be transferred to Gangtok where on arrival you will check into your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 02 : In Gangtok * Day excursion to Tshangu Lake

Early in the morning depart for a half-day excursion to Tshangu lake (one has to obtain a permit in Gangtok to visit Tshangu lake). Enjoy a Yak ride around this lake (on direct payment basis). The rest of the time is at leisure. (B)

Day 03 : On to Kalimpong (85 Kms / approx. 3 hour drive)

This morning, enjoy a tour of Gangtok visiting Do-drul Chorten that has a gold-topped stupa with 108 prayer wheels. Also visit the Institute of Tibetology & Institute of Handicrafts and Handlooms (Closed on Sunday). In the afternoon proceed on a drive to Kalimpong where on arrival you will check into your hotel. The evening is free for shopping in the local market. (B)

Day 04 : On to Darjeeling (70 Kms / approx. 3 hour drive)

In the morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Dello hills, Dr. Graham's home and the flower nurseries. This afternoon you will drive to Darjeeling where on arrival you will check into your hotel. The evening is at leisure to relax in your hotel or for shopping (on your own) on mall road. (B)

Day 05 : In Darjeeling

Very early this morning (around 4 am) drive to Tiger Hill to witness the sunrise over the Eastern Himalayan peaks with fabulous views of Mt. Kanchendzonga (28,208 ft) (subject to clear weather conditions). On return to your hotel visit Ghoom Monastery. Later in the day enjoy visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological garden and the Tibetan refugee self - help center (Closed on Sunday); Batasia Loop, an engineering marvel and feat where the railway line negotiates a circle and descends 1,000 ft in altitude. The train's figure 8's and Z maneuvers is a picturesque sight. From here one gets a grand view of the town of Darjeeling perched on the slopes of hills with Mt. Kanchenjunga in the background. Finally visit The War Memorial, constructed in the memory of the brave sons of Darjeeling who laid their life for the country in different actions since 1947. The evening is free to relax in your hotel or for shopping (on your own) on mall road. (B)

Day 06 : On to Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri (95 kms / approx 3 hour drive) * Return home with happy memories

Today bid farewell to your 'Hills of East' tour, as you are transferred to Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station for your onward journey. Or why not extend your holiday and take our 2 days Darjeeling Package. (B)
